This stunning fabric is made by Halley Stevensons, pioneers of waxed cotton and weatherproofed fabrics since 1864. The concept of waxed cotton was originally developed in the early 15th century by sailors. From fish-oil-treated sailcloths used as rain capes to 21st-century Girls of Dust coats.
