AaBe and Knitwit are a match made in heaven.

Before the duvet took over, almost every Dutch bed was made up with a wool AaBe blanket. AaBe was the oldest textile factory in Tilburg and the only one there that made blankets, and its blanket has stood for Dutch warmth and quality since 1929. Stichting The Knitwit Stable has now brought this iconic blanket back to life with wool from the Kempen heath sheep. It’s a traditional breed whose grazing helps keep heathland open and healthy.

The blanket is made at a family-run blanket mill in Northern Italy. The wool is left undyed, so it keeps its natural colour. At the end of its long life, the blanket is biodegradable and can return to the soil.
